# Installing skills

> Add skills from the catalog, import them from a GitHub repository, or upload your own files.

Open **Skills** in the left navigation. There are three ways to add a skill.

## From the catalog

Select **Browse skills** to see the curated catalog: community workflows like *Thesis tracker*, *Earnings analysis*, and *Comparable companies*. Each installs with one click.

## From GitHub

Paste a GitHub repository URL into the search box. Investi checks the repository (public repositories only), then shows a preview of every skill it discovered, each with a checkbox and any warnings. Confirm with **Import N skills**.

<Note>
  Private repositories can't be imported; the check will report "Repository not found" for them.
</Note>

## By upload

Use the upload button to import a `.zip` archive or a single `SKILL.md` file, up to 10 MB. A zip can contain a full skill with its reference files and assets.

## After installing

* Toggle a skill **on** to let the analyst discover it automatically when relevant.
* Leave it **off** to keep it manual-only; you can still run it any time with `/` in chat.
* Click a skill to open it in the [editor](/skills/writing-skills) and see or adjust exactly what it tells the analyst.
* Delete a skill with the trash icon that appears on hover.
